He was predeceased by: his wife Helen; his parents, Arthur and Jenny; his children, David Burnett and Kenneth Burnett; his children-in-law, Diane Burnett, Dean Kentner and Richard Clausen; and his siblings, Arthur Jr., Donald Burnett, Gloria Meyer and Marie Pelant.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Brad Burnett (Kris) of Albert Lea, MN, Julie Brua Markley of Bloomington, MN, Ronald Burnett (Karen) and Beverly Kentner Clausen of Minneapolis, MN. He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren; and many other relatives.
