He was predeceased by: his parents, William Leininger and Arela Leininger (Rusch); his sisters, Marie (Floyd Gabbert), Helen (Earl Weaver) and Lois Zimmerman (Harold); and his brother-in-law Harold Colwell.
He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Leininger; his children, Steven Leininger (Lori) of Kasson, MN, Philip Leininger (Hank Blum), NJ, Jayne Leininger of Apple Valley, MN and Julie Ness (Jon) of Lakeville, MN; his grandchildren, Lindsey Marquez (David), Bryan Leininger (Stephanie), Thomas Leininger (Hillary Liverman), Abbie O'Donnell (Troy) and Mollie Ness; his great grandchildren, Olivia Smith, Tyler Smith, Lucy Tower, Sophie Tower and Logan Rausch; his brother Harlan Leininger (Marilyn); and his siblings-in-law, Cleo and Dean Benschoter.
