He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Nelson and Alice Nelson (Medlin); his wife Berna G. Nelson; and his siblings, Darold Nelson (Charlotte) and Sharon Larson (Craig).
He is survived by: his sisters, Phyllis Brozik (Ron) and Lynn Hagen (Lon); his stepchildren, Sylvia Christianson (Dana) of Hartland, MN, Richard Opdahl (Kathy) of Alden, MN and Dale Opdahl (Linda) of Paullina, IA; and his grandchildren, Audra, Kari, Brianna, Staci, Wendy and Michelle. He is also survived by family members and friends.
