He was predeceased by: his parents, William Wittmer and Louise Wittmer (Bangert); his siblings, Elmer Wittmer (Dorothy) and Wilma Olson (Donald); and his brother-in-law Al Johnson.
He is survived by: his spouse Erlys Wacholz; his children, Mary Peterson (Marlin), Robert Wittmer (Catherine) and James Wittmer; his grandchildren, Kristina Buss (Jon), Eric Peterson (Blythe), Andrew Peterson (Danielle), Colin Wittmer (Amelia) and Anthony Wittmer (Alyssa); and his sister Gladys Mae Johnson. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
