He was predeceased by: his parents, George J. McCarthy and Esther McCarthy (Gear); his siblings, Gerald, John McCarthy and Mary Dickirson; and his sister-in-law Doreen McCarthy.
He is survived by: his wife Jean McCarthy of Albert Lea; his daughters, Mary Ann Kaufman (Chris) of Glen Ellyn, IL and Patricia Winters (Andy) of Maplewood; and his grandchildren, Olivia, John, Madison and Anne. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
