He was predeceased by: his parents, George Mapes and La Vona Glencross; his former wife Lois (Berg); his spouse Dyann (Taasaas); his children, Terri Wise and Robert Taasaas; and his siblings, Keith Mapes and LeNein Semento.

He is survived by: his former wife Carolyn (Swenson).
