He was predeceased by: his parents, Dennis Schultheis and Gertrude Schultheis (Merkel); his wife Marilyn Vanden Hul; his siblings, Dean Schultheis and Darlene Johnson; and his parents-in-law, Nettie Vanden Hul and John Vanden Hul (Bernice).

He is survived by: his children, Donald Schultheis Jr. (Mary), Lisa Frondal (Steve) and Betty Schultheis; his grandchildren, John Schultheis (Alicia), Chad Schultheis (Linsey), Brandy Wilkinson (Mark Hogan), Dawn Gulbrandson (Eric), Jason Christensen, Tammy Frondal (Arron Brune) and Justin Frondal; his close friend Uldene Kraling; and his nephew Steve Schultheis. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family funeral will place with burial at Hillcrest Cemetery.
