He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Stearns and Grace Stearns (Olson); and his spouse B. Jean Stearns (Collins). He is survived by: his former wife Eunice Michaelis (Saelens); his friend Leslie; his children, John Stearns (Dela), David Stearns, Michael Stearns (Amy) and Mary Schultheis (Don); his stepdaughter Jayne Villarreal; and his grandchildren, Emily, Eric, Cody, Christina, Janya, John and Chad. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
