He was predeceased by: his father Russell Stiehl; his brothers, Tom Stiehl and Gordy Stiehl; his stepfather Werner Bangert; his sister Gail; his mother-in-law Millie Hartwell; his siblings-in-law, Vic Frost, Art Lombard and Alice Frost; and his nephew Ron Walk.
He is survived by: his wife Laurel "Sue"; his mother Phyllis Bangert; his brothers, Jay Bangert (Kerry) and Carey Bangert (Kristin); his stepsons, Randy Sylvara (Sara) of Hollandale, Mark Sylvara of Albert Lea and Steve Sylvara of Owatonna; and his daughter Julie Phillips of Newell, SD. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; several cousins and aunts.
