She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifford Peterson and Dagnie Peterson (Hanson); her husband Herb; her son Andrew; her brother-in-law Peter Waalkens (Karen); and her pet Sassy.
She is survived by: her former husband Herbert Waalkens; her sons, Michael Waalkens (Linda) and Jay Waalkens (Sue); her daughter-in-law Jodie Lindell (Chad); her grandchildren, Timothy "Maynard" Waalkens (Barbara), Alisha "Mabel" Groeneweg (Shawn), Benjamin "Marvin" Waalkens (Jeanna Bergman), Taran "Melvin" Waalkens (Kami), Heather "Martha" Rood (Stephan) and Jonathan "Martin" Waalkens (Audrice); her stepgrandchildren, David and Mikayla Lindell; her great grandchildren, Andilynn, Carsen, Bentley, Aubrionna, Wyatt, Xhaiden, Thorin, Paisley and Baby Girl Waalkens; her siblings, Sandra Fredrickson, Clifton Peterson and Charles Peterson (Vivian); her sister-in-law Rena Marlene Waalkens-Masyga (Michael); her pet Emma; and her close friend Rosemary Bloomquist. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to American Cancer Society or to the family.
