She was predeceased by: her parents, Johannes Welten and Wilhelmina Welten; her husband John Henry Van Erkel; and her siblings, Jan Welten (Iet) and Toos Jobse (Kees).

She is survived by: her children, Helmy Tennis (Brad) of Baraboo, WI and Peter Van Erkel (Teri) of Hollandale; her grandchildren, Peter Tennis (Jessica) of Knoxville, TN, Annemieke Tennis of New Orleans, LA, Jon Van Erkel (Nicki) of Hollandale, Heidi Anderson of Hollandale and Annalise Hullopeter (Brent) of Hollandale; and her great grandchildren, Jayce, Knox, Bode, Molly, Morgan, Trey, Logan, Bo and Rhett. She is also survived by relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
