He was predeceased by: his wife Audrey; his son-in-law Todd Olson; his brothers, Dallas, Duane, Dean and Winston West; and his siblings-in-law, Yvonne West and Pat Bodle.
He is survived by: his children, Richard West (Sarah) of Elk River, Kimberly Fritz (Jerry) of Avon, Glenna Kalahar (Mark) of Rochester and Sandra Klaphake (Randy) of Albany; his grandchildren, Richard Fritz (Megan), Mitch Kalahar (Natalie), Andrew Fritz, Kelsi Kalahar, Brianna West, Autumn Olson, Blaine Olson and Rikayla West; his great grandchild Ryan Fritz; and his siblings, Chandler (Alyce), Darlene Bodle, Joyce Ellig (Willis) and Valva Carlson (Jim).
Visitation was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (23845 Co Rd 40, Albany, MN 56307). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, December 9th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery (15550 MN-115, Little Falls, MN 56345).
