He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Speed and Charlotte Speed (Martinson); his parents-in-law, Jerry and Betty Berning; his sister-in-law Mary Speed; and his nephews, Jason Berning and Joshua Simmons.
He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Speed of Ann's Catholic Church; his son Shawn Speed (Tammy); his grandchildren, Thomas Speed, Benjamin Speed, Danny Gordon, Kenny Gordon (Nathan), Kari Steece (Chris) and Allison Novak (Isaac); his great grandchildren, Malachi Novak and Rylee Gordon; his siblings, Brad Speed, Steve Speed (Sandy) and Michelle Speed; his close friends, Beaver Johnson (Dianne) and Dan Wruck (Terri Sue); and his pet Sully. He is also survived by ten nieces; three nephews; 14 great nieces; nine great-nephews (and one on the way); 3 great-great nieces; 2 great-great-nephews.
