She was predeceased by: her parents, Lucas K. Kruse and Helen Kruse (Lee); her brother LeRoy Kruse (Karen); her husbands, Marvin Gruis and Stan Engelkes; and her son-in-law Francisco Mejia.
She is survived by: her children, Greg Gruis (Coleen) of Rushmore, MN, Brad Gruis (Alice) of Baltic, SD, Lori Mejia of Adrian, MN and Jan Engelkes (Jeff Saul) of Denver, CO; her sister Leone Stieneke (Tom) of Aurelia, IA; and her sister-in-law Lucille Gruis of Rushmore, MN. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
