He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schaefer and Emma Schaefer (Krebsbach); his siblings, Raymond, Pete and Joline May; his son-in-law Paul Davis; and his brother-in-law Vincent Miller.
He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Blake of Adams; his children, Yvonne Mulcahy (Bob), Patrick Schaefer (Judy) of Shoreview, Ellen Wiste (David) of Adams, Ruth Larson (Lowell), S. C., Jim Schaefer (Katie) of Rochester and Mary Jo Davis of Wykoff; his sister Gladys Miller of Adams; and his sisters-in-law, Judy Schaefer of Danville, KY and Ann Schaefer of Riceville, IA.. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
