He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Melin (Leonard) and Isabel Melin; his father-in-law Orvus Benitt; and his cousin James Maves. He is survived by: his wife Valerie; his children, Jason Melin (Laura), Tracy Olson (Chris) and Tara Knutson (Ryan); his sister Shelly McFarlane (Kirby); and his mother-in-law Aileen Benitt. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
