He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Carpenter and Inga Carpenter (Nelson) of Moorhead, MN.; and his siblings, Charles, Donald, Floyd and Lorraine.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Hoffman of Iona, MN; his children, Randall (Jaette) of Minneapolis, MN, Stephen (Susan) of Grand Forks, ND and Mary of Omaha, NE; his grandchildren, Meta Rudolf (Ben), Siri Carpenter and Andrew Carpenter (Charlotte); his great grandchildren, Haven, June, Emma and Iorek; and his sisters, Delores Olson (Lynn) and Marlys Carpenter (Duane). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
