He is survived by: his parents, Silas Barkel and Sadie Barkel; his wife Myra; his children, Dave Barkel (Linda), Tim Barkel (Lori), Dan Barkel (Ann), Matt Barkel (Donna), Steve Isenga (Brenda) and Tom Isenga (Anita); his siblings, Vern Barkel (Joyce), Alden Barkel (Hester), Allen Voorhorst (Joann), Roger VandeBunte (Dawn), Harlan VandeBunte (Becky) and Bob VandeBunte (Ruth); and his grandchildren, Jessica Brunink (Jeremy), Sarah Bekius (Ryan), Jordan Barkel (Lindsey), Travis Barkel (Laurelin), Justin Barkel (Kelsey), Phillip Barkel, Rachel Dyrdal (Andrew), Joel Barkel (Christina), Luke Barkel, Claire Barkel, Ted Barkel, Joshua Isenga (Kaylin), Dirk Isenga (Claire), Christina Isenga, Tim Isenga and Anna Isenga.
