He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Nykamp and Hattie Nykamp; his brother Art; his sister-in-law Minnie Nykamp; his brother Gerald Nykamp; his sister-in-law Millie Koert; and his son-in-law Douglas Vredeveld.

He is survived by: his wife Winifred "Winn"; his daughters, Mary Nykamp and Joyce Vredeveld; his grandchildren, Jen Vredeveld, Tyler, Jennifer Vredeveld, Tara and Kevin Buning; his great grandchild Kerri Buning; and his siblings-in-law, George Koert and Winifred "Fritz" Nykamp. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and Hospice of Holland.
