He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester A. Sr. Gillen and Margaret Louise Gillen (Forney); his wife Cathy; and his brother John Gillen. He is survived by: his siblings, Judy Richards (Edward) of Ottumwa, IA, Chester Gillen Jr. of Blakesburg, IA and Jerry Gillen of Ottumwa, IA.. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
A memorial has been established to the Blakesburg Cemetery in Blakesburg, Iowa.
