He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin DeJonge and Angeline DeJonge; his children, Steven and Sherry Dozeman; his brothers, Melvin, Bill and Gordon DeJonge; and his siblings-in-law, Gert, Ray Mokma, Dorothy, Russ Borgman and Hennie Kleinheksel.
He is survived by: his wife Reka (Rozeboom); his children, Paul DeJonge (Barb), Chris Gruppen (Nels) and Dwight DeJonge (Beth); his son-in-law Kendall Dozeman; his siblings, Vern DeJonge (Coralee), John DeJonge (Judy), Cliff DeJonge, Ray DeJonge (Sharon) and MaryAnn Smith (Jerry); and his siblings-in-law, Norma DeJonge, Rudy Kleinheksel, Jim and Mary Rozeboom. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
