He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Scherpenisse and Angeline Scherpenisse (Beimers); his brother Melvin Scherpenisse; his parents-in-law, Harold and Nellie Ruster; his siblings-in-law, John, Jeannie Ruster and Connie J. Scherpenisse; his nieces, Sheri VanBruggen and Faith Webster; and his nephew Jeffrey Weir.
He is survived by: his wife Linda; his daughters, Carla Lydon (Daniel) and Amy Wozniak (Kevin); his grandchildren, Jared and Megan; his siblings, Carol Scherpenisse, Mary Waterloo (Ron), Edith Timmer (Ken), Don Scherpenisse (Deborah) and Bob Scherpenisse (Connie G.); and his siblings-in-law, Joan Weir (Stan), Larry Ruster (Nancy) and Randy Ruster (Darlene). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
