It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Erna Smith of Zeeland, Michigan, born in Hazen, North Dakota, who passed away on April 6, 2022, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Dale; her sons, Doyle Smith and Bradley Smith; her son-in-law John McCormack; and her siblings, Norm Oster, Irma Wamhoff (Ray), Del Tarno (Bud) and Vi Seals (Bill).
She is survived by: her children, Ronda McCormack, Jymm Smith (Judy), Brenda Schout (Mark) and Karen Van Koevering (Kelly); her grandchildren, Patti Klemmet (Patrick), John McCormack (Lisa), Luke Hackney, Andrew Schout (Katie), Erin Birkenmeier (Dave), Kaleigh Schout, Kyle VanKoevering (Tiffinie), Alex VanKoevering and Maxton VanKoevering (Karly); her sister Gladys Schulz; and her sisters-in-law, Betty Nolting and Ardith Long (Lee). She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions in Erna's honor may be given to Zion Lutheran Church.
