He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kolean and Jeanette Kolean; his parents-in-law, Floyd Westveld and Berdena Westveld; and his siblings-in-law, Stuart DeWitt, Wayne Westveld and Dottie O'Conner.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Kolean; his children, Kurt Kolean and Lauri Kolean; his sisters, Jackie Busscher (Al) and Sher DeWitt; and his sisters-in-law, Wanda Westveld and Sandra Postma (Laverne). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
