He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmit Ray and Nellie Ray (Cook); his wife Margaret Lane; his children, Joseph and Charlotte; his children-in-law, Nancy and George; and his siblings, Madeline, Jean, Tom, Fred and Frank.
He is survived by: his son Michael Ray; his daughter-in-law Phyllis Ray; his grandchildren, Levi (Angie), Chris (Kisha), Gerald and Amber; and his siblings, Naomi Causey, Rea Ann Shultz, Martha Bevins (Frank), Lucille Lambert, Carol Williams (Terry) and Jessie Ray (Sondra). He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren.
