He was predeceased by: his father Márton Markovits. He is survived by: his wife Ursula Markovits (Zilger); his children, Marton T. Markovits (Annie) of Ardmore, PA and Nicole S. Markovits of Ypsilanti, MI; his grandson Lucas H. Markovits; his brother Peter Podoski; and his cousin France.
