She was predeceased by: her father Edgar; her husband Alfred Burton Dye; her son-in-law Charles Bird; her brothers, Claudie B. Samples and Odie E. Samples; and her half-siblings, Everett Samples, Myrtie Marie Fish and Opal Lee Georgie Volz.
She is survived by: her children, Lawanda Jean Bird (late Charles) and Billy Dye (Sandy); her grandson David Burton Dye; her great grandchildren, Joseph Burton Dye and Lindsey Marie Dye; her sister Shirley Jean Massey; and her half-brother Clarence Samples.
