He was predeceased by: his parents, Lena McFerrin Smith and Ernest Smith; and his wife Carol Ann Boulden McFerrin. He is survived by: his children, Richard, Jr. (Sharena), Michael (Angela), Robin, Tracy (Michael) and Christopher (Chastity). He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, cousins and friends.
