She was predeceased by: her parents, Freeman Brown and Katherine Brown (Israel); her husband Earnest Gardner Jr.; her son Spencer Gardner; her grandson Jeralontae Gardner; her siblings, Spencer Brown, Mozell Brown, Freeman Brown Jr., Ezell Brown, Annie Mae Jack, Mamie Williams, Viola Biddles and Julia Mae Gardner; and her sister-in-law Annie Ruth Walker.
She is survived by: her sisters, Mary Louise Gardner, Susie Ann Brown and Earline Brown; her sisters-in-law, Mary Francis Walker, Iona Brown and Fannie Mae Dondril; her children, Earnestine Gardner (Cecil), Barney Gardner, Tisha Heiligh (Willie) and Quinntez Gardner; her daughter-in-law Violet Gardner; and her grandchildren, Latoya Davis (Jesse), Mario Gardner, Martez Gardner, Oryanna Jackson (Terrance), Nequila Gardner, LaQuisha Gardner, Christopher Sharpe and Cartrell Roberson. She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives, friends.
