He was predeceased by: his parents, Townsend E. Hunt and Lucille Hunt (Gordon); his wife Joan C. Hunt; and his siblings, Sammie Lee Hunt, Purvis L. Hunt, Howard D. Hunt, Townsend E. Hunt, Louis D. Hunt, Charles M. Hunt, Joe Jr. Miller, Carrie H. Hunt and Mary L. Duncan.
He is survived by: his children, Juanice Hunt of Ypsilanti, MI and James F. Hunt Jr. (Starr) of Forney, TX; his grandchildren, Cedric Howard Jr. (Amber) of South Lyon, MI, Nathaniel J. Caldwell of Ypsilanti, MI, Garrin Hunt (Bryanna) of Hampton, VA, Jovan Hunt (Raven) of Van Buren, MI, Lynesha, Dywane and Dyrrell Richardson; and his sisters, Mamie Dale Little and Bonnie Gilmore (Willie). He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
