He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Ann Mery Amador; his parents, Primo Amador and Beatriz Amador; and his sister Dai Nicoll. He is survived by: his brothers, Antonio and Dwight (Susan); his nephews, Thomas Esper (Sativa) and Anthony Amador (Jean); and his niece Heather Ann Nicoll.
