He is survived by: his children, Christopher Merritt (Amy) and Lisa Elrod (Michael); and his grandchildren, Mariha Campbell, Jacob Merritt (Kelsey), Larry Alford, Ryan Simpson (Holly), Mellisa O'Neal (Joseph), Wanda Crow (Adam), Angel Byrd and Karla Byrd. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
