She was predeceased by: her parents, Alice Matney and Willie J. Childress; her husband Bert Thomas Cox (Sonny); her siblings, Howard, Clell, Cline, Elmer Childress, Vicey Belcher and Bonnie Thacker; and her grandson Garry Thomas Brown.
She is survived by: her sister Sarah Steele (William Steele); her daughters, Jerry Lynn Potts and Nancy Yvonne Cox; her granddaughters, Casey Soave (Mark Soave) and Camey Buzas; her great grandchildren, Jessica Brown, Jackie Brown, Jillian Goss (Tyler Goss), Katelyn Buchte, Kristina Buchte, Kelsey Soave, Cody and Ian Buzas; and her great great grandchildren, Christopher, Jacob, Riley, Zoey, Tyler, Leo and Skylar.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Barbara's honor to the Ypsilanti Church of Christ, Ypsilanti Meals on Wheels, or to Arbor Hospice.
