Alan Elkins Obituary
Alan Elkins died Thursday, January 20, 2022, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital with his loving family at his side. He was born February 5, 1965, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the son of Chester Elkins and Darlene Horton. Alan was employed as a Handyman and Groundskeeper for many years and was currently employed as a Security Guard in the retail industry. He will always be remembered for his love of gardening and training dogs but most importantly, his love for his family. Surviving besides his parents include his long-time partner, Jane Dickerson; step-mother, Gilda Elkins; step-father, Jack Johnson, Sr.; one brother, Darrel (Jennifer) Elkins; three sisters: Sarah Johnson, Jocelyn (Jeff) Bertsch and Jennica Elkins; grandsons: Don and Ezra Dickerson; 22 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Johnson, Jr. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Ypsilanti Missionary Baptist Church, 7180 S. Huron River Dr., Ypsilanti, Michigan 48197 with Pastor Joseph Kennedy officiating.
