He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Hazel and Dorothy Hazel (Hilborn); his son Mark James Hazel; his brothers, James and Richard Hazel; his siblings-in-law, Kathleen Job, Bonnie Puchlak (Walt), Leeland Stiles, Rick Thierry and Larry Gerlock; and his nephews, Joey Hazel and Tim Puchlak.
He is survived by: his wife Joanne Gleason; his son Tom Hazel (Sue) of Sandusky; and his siblings-in-law, Kay Hazel, Nancy Hazel, Betty Stiles, Colleen Gerlach, Mary Thierry, Bill Gleason (Wilma) and George Job.
