It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thomas Westra of Wyoming, Michigan, who passed away on January 11, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Thomas Westra to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gradus Westra and Catherine Westra; his stepmother Geraldine Westra; and his siblings, Carol Oppenhuizen and David Westra.
He is survived by: his daughters, Amanda VanMaanen (Michael), Kelly Gray (Bryan) and Mary Westra (Erik Ryder); his grandchildren, Kamden, Avery, Madison and Ben; his brothers, Ron Westra (Judy), Don Westra (Ruth) and Gord Westra (Marcia); and his siblings-in-law, Judy Westra and Roger Oppenhuizen (Lois). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Stroo Funeral Home (1095 68th St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to Corewell Health Hospice in recognition of the loving care provided to Tom and his family.
