He was predeceased by: his parents, Miguel Hernandez and Julia Garcia; his son Jose Eleazar Hernandez; and his siblings, Maria Villasenor, Fidel Hernandez, Guadalupe Hernandez and Andrea Hernandez.

He is survived by: his wife Made Jesus Carrillo; and his children, Carlos Ventura Hernandez, Vincente Hernandez, Maria Antonia Hernandez, Otilia Hernandez, Juana Hernandez, Hector Jesus Hernandez, Rosa Hernandez and Elisa Hernandez. He is also survived by many loving grandchildren; and great grandchildren.
