He was predeceased by: his parents, George Simmons and Gertrude Simmons. He is survived by: his wife Arlene Simmons (Weidenfeller); his son Dale; his daughter-in-law Renee Simmons (VanNorman); and his sisters, Mildred, Gale Loew, Jolene and Lynn VanOrder. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
