He is survived by: his wife Joyce Elaine Haggerty; his children, Jim Platt and Cindy Owens; his grandchildren, Aidan Platt, Deanna Cavalier, Montana Owens and Zachary Tiffany; his brother Jim Platt; and his sister-in-law Karen Bigelow (Bruce). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
