He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry VanderVeen and Ann VanderVeen; and his siblings, Henry VanderVeen (Gertrude), Peter VanderVeen (Winifred), Bernard VanderVeen (Jean) and Coreen Baker (Harold).
He is survived by: his children, Robert, Cris (Reese), Laurie VanHaitsma (Larry), Thomas, Robin Finkbeiner (Dave) and Cherie Fuss (Jeff); his grandchildren, Justin VanderVeen (Stephanie), Randy VanderVeen (Richelle), Tyler Van Haitsma, Erin Walcott (Scott), Nathan VanderVeen (April), Krista Luloff, Michael VanderVeen, Holly Drew (Jeff), Kyle Finkbeiner and Nicholas McCoy (Joshua); his sister Anne VanderVeen; and his sisters-in-law, Louise Wheeler and Janine Burns (Casey).
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 at 10:00 AM at 5250 Byron Center Ave SW, Wyoming, MI 49519. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Faith Hospice.
