He is survived by: his wife Jayne; his son Jacob Merritt (Sarah); his siblings, David Merritt (Judy), Hiram Lee Merritt (Sheila), Barbara Smith (Dan), Mary Gunter and Nancy Albadani; and his brother-in-law Jeff Massey (Ann). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
