He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Charles Betway, Gertrude Betway and Ruth Farrer. He is survived by: his parents, Richard Betway and Wendy Betway (Farrer); his brother Lance Betway (Amanda); his grandfather William Farrer; and his nephew Calvin Betway.

Memorial contributions in honor of Spencer may be made to the World Wildlife Fund or the Sierra Club.
