It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Queen of Wyandotte, Michigan, born in McCaysville, Georgia, who passed away on September 1, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Earl Queen and Pearl Queen (Gilliam); his wife Brenda (Lovasz); his children, Kelly, Patrick and Michael (Clarice); his stepson Robert Lovasz (Amy); his grandchildren, Dylan Queen (Steffany), Zachary Varela, Derek Varela (Leslie), Myles Lovasz and Madison Lovasz; and his siblings, Eva Hicks, Joseph Queen (Brenda), Dorotea Richardson, Diralda Santilli, Karen Watt and Brian Queen (Toni).
With a small band of volunteers and donated materials, he led the effort to install the city's first lighted diamond and homerun fence at Longsdorf and Krause Streets.
