He was predeceased by: his former wife Florence Rolecki; his wife Helen; his siblings, Joseph, Frances, Helen and Wally; and his stepson Timothy Nester.

He is survived by: his children, Daniel Piwowar (Nancy) and Yvonne Piwowar-Berry; his sister Sister Mary Modesta Piwowar; his stepchildren, Jean Ann Boyes and William Nester (Noreen); his grandchildren, Jonathan Berry (Jessica), Kara Gelven (Derek) and Kevin Piwowar (Jordan); his stepgrandchildren, Alex Boyes (Jodi Ferlito) and Jarod Boyes; and his great grandchildren, Taylor, Jackson, Hannah, Violet and June. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Molnar Funeral Homes-Nixon Chapel (2544 Biddle Ave, Wyandotte, MI 48192). A rosary was held on Friday, March 14th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Molnar Funeral Homes-Nixon (2544 Biddle Ave, Wyandotte, MI 48192). The lying in state was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Vincent Pallotti Parish. A Mass was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
