He was predeceased by: his parents, Pablo Escamilla and Luz Escamilla; and his siblings, Ernestine, Eddie, Hank, Mary and Carmen.
He is survived by: his wife Shari; his children, Karen Moore (Tim), Andrew Escamilla (Dan Emerson) and Sharon Selewski (Dave); his stepchildren, Sarah Ziemer, Andrew Ziemer and Melanie Ziemer; his grandchildren, Brian, Aaron, Hannah, Julia, Olivia, Jacob, Rebecca, Christopher, Kelsey, Brendan and Sophia; and his siblings, Esther, Josefina, Margaret, Robert, Paul and Sebastian. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 4th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Allen Park Chapel - Martenson Family (10915 Allen Rd, Allen Park, MI 48101). A prayer was held on Friday, October 4th 2024 at 6:30 PM at the same location. The lying in state was held on Saturday, October 5th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Most Holy Redeemer Church (1721 Junction Ave, Detroit, MI 48209). A Mass was held on Saturday, October 5th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of George to Grace Church Food Pantry, Henry Ford NICU Miracles on Main project or Fish and Loaves Food Pantry.
