He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Derkatz and Irene Derkatz (Wrobleski); his brother Robert Derkatz; his daughter-in-law Laura Derkatz; and his grandson Caleb Spies.
He is survived by: his former wife Neva Derkatz (Ford); his children, Tom Derkatz of Wolverine, Deborah Wuebben (William) of Jeddo, Linda Leese (Gordon) of Pickford, Donald Derkatz (Tracy) of Jeddo, Heather Spies (Gene) of Lewiston and Lona Gapinski (Steven) of Gaylord; and his sister Dorothy Helm of Jackson. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
