She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Carlson and Kathryn Carlson (Eicher); and her son Scott Richard. She is survived by: her friends, Karen and Buck; her husband Buck Heide; her daughter Kriston Ashenfelter (David); her brother Richard Carlson (Marsha); her grandsons, Daniel Ashenfelter, Andrew Ashenfelter, Matthew Ashenfelter and James Ashenfelter; and her great grandchild Morgan Ashenfelter. She is also survived by nieces; and a nephew.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to use for various community resources and charities, as this is what Karen enjoyed doing the most.
