He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John and Helen A.; his wife Lorraine; his children, David Dobis and Suzette Usitalo (late Eric); his grandchildren, Daisy Dobis and Evan Usitalo; his brothers, Raymond Dobis (Malvania) and Leonard Dobis; and his siblings-in-law, David Buha (Mary) and Valerie Hein (late Timothy). He was also cherished by numerous extended family members and many dear friends who join his family.

In lieu of flowers, Richard's family wishes that memorial contributions be made towards the Alzheimer's Association.
