It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dana D. Zamiara of Williamston, Michigan, born in Jackson, Michigan, who passed away on May 21, 2021, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Dieterle and Sylvia Dieterle (Morehouse); her husband Steven B. Zamiara; her son Steven B. Zamiara II; her stepfather J. R. Lewis; and her brother-in-law Dennis McVay.

She is survived by: her daughter Nickole Zamiara of Santa Inez, CA; her daughter-in-law Elize Zamiara; her granddaughter Anastasia Zamiara of San Diego, CA; her sisters, Rhoda McVay of Stockbridge, MI and Sarah Raelene Hamrick of Poquoson, VA; and her nieces and nephews, Sarah McVay (James Foukes) of Glen Burnie, MD, Krisie Hamrick of Hawaii, Todd Hamrick (Kathy) of Raleigh, NC, Andrew Hamrick of Poquoson, VA and Scott McVay of Stockbridge, MI. She is also survived by three great-nieces and one great-nephew.

As she was a three time cancer survivor, memorials may be made to the Susan B. Komen Foundation or the Lansing Liederkranz Club, or a charity of your choice.

“I am certainly very saddened to hear of Dana’s death. She and Steve were the first friends I made upon moving to Raleigh in Alyson Pond in the early 90’s. Her smile and infectious laugh always made me feel welcome. She and Steve attend our wedding in 1999 in Beaufort. Please take comfort that She and Steve are together at last. We miss them tremendously. Prayers to you all. Andrea Meli and Rick Germain.”
