He was predeceased by: his father Dr. Patrick Kenneth Best. He is survived by: his wife Lindsay Mergos; his children, David Jr., Caroline and Maggie; his mother Joan; his aunt Margaret Gregg; his siblings, Catherine Best Scherer (John) and Brendan Best (Martha); his nieces and nephews, Emily, Jack Scherer, Catherine, Joseph, Michael Best, Molly, Gabriella, Isabella, Lily Ames, Frederick and Katarina Mergos; his mother-in-law Connie Mergos; his siblings-in-law, Heather Mergos Ames (Tom) and Fred Mergos; and his cousins, Kevin, Keiran Best, Kate Best Shaw, John, Matthew, Michael Tucker and Suzanne Tucker Hess.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A rosary will be held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home (305 Sixth St, Traverse City, MI 49684). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Christ the King Catholic Church (3801 Shore Rd, Williamsburg, MI 49690).
